The first proper outing with my camera this year was at the GRRC’s 73rd members meeting at Goodwood last weekend. Consider it a toned down version of the ever popular revival; all the racing/automotive goodness is still there but with less dressing up, no over crowding and very little restriction on where you are allowed to wander… …and it works!
In addition to fantastic racing featuring full grids of classic touring cars, 1950’s F1 and many others, the Members Meeting also has high speed demonstrations of machinery that is a little too fiery for the period circuits safety measures! These included 1970’s ‘High Airbox’ F1 cars, a dramatic gathering of McLaren F1 GTR’s and my personal favourite; a selection a Group C racers from the late 80’s and early 90’s.
