If you are a follower of Formula E you will (or certainly should) know of Current E. Since the inception of the series, this website and its accompanying magazine has established itself as the leading authority on all things Formula E, providing leading analysis and some of the best motorsport photography going. I was therefore delighted to be asked to contribute to the latest issue in the form of a concept livery for Jaguar’s entry into the championship in 2017.

Although Jaguar provided pictures of a liveried car at launch, it was essentially that; a launch livery with the real race livery expected, with the driver announcements sometime later this year. In the latest edition of the magazine, motorsport technical writer Craig Scarborough (Scarbs) details the British marques return to racing and the challenges it faces. My illustration accompanies the article as a look forward to what might be!

The illustration was drawn from scratch with the car taking the vast amount of the time to complete. The livery itself has a hint of the ‘Group 44’ Jaguar colours with a modern twist in terms of the stripe layout and the addition of a third green (that I can only describe as ‘being more Formula E’!)

If you fancy reading the full issue you can find it free on the Current E website.
